Older version of iMacro impossible to install

by Legalien on Thu Aug 31, 2017 5:58 pm

When I go here:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... /versions/

I can only install the 9.0.3 version. It won't allow me to install any of the older version due to an "incompatibility" issue.

I tried to find and download the 8.9.7 version, but I can't find anywhere online to download it.

How can I install the 8.9.7 version?

Thanks

FCIM...!
- (F)CIM = (Full) Config Info Missing: iMacros + Browser + OS with all 3 Versions...
- I usually don't even read the Question if that (required) Info is not mentioned...
- Script & URL usually help a lot for a more "educated" Help...

Ah...!, that's better...! :D
Sorry, but I don't answer Threads when FCI is not mentioned, "... not compatible with your Version of Firefox..." is not good enough...

But OK, FF v55.0.3, perfect..., and good news, iMacros for FF v8.9.7 indeed still works on this FF Version (I run some Test Env. with this very same FCI, except OS = Win10-x64, but that won't play a Role...), even if the Mozilla Add-ons Gallery and automatic Version Check thinks differently...

The way to force-install previous Versions of an Add-on on FF is to first download it locally, from the Mozilla Add-ons Gallery or for iMacros from the Version History Wiki Page as well and to drag and drop it onto the Add-ons Manager Tab in FF like you may have already found out from the FCI you mention already in your next Thread...

Be cautious btw with updating FF the coming time if you rely on iMacros, v8.9.7 doesn't seem to work on FF57 (Nightly), it doesn't install properly as the Macros don't get listed in the Side-Panel, and I didn't find a way to play them, v9.0.3 seems to install correctly but again it's impossible to play a Macro, the 'Play' and 'Loop' Buttons do nothing and I didn't find a way either to play a Macro... (from Bookmark, '.BAT' File, etc...)

Download V8.9.7 from http://wiki.imacros.net/iMacros_for_Fir ... on_History

Drag and drop file to Firefox.

If you use iMacro for work, please use Firefox ESR, at least you will be ok until August next year, after that, I don't know what will happen.

Yeah I managed to do it. Thanks.

I suppose if an update comes out on Firefox that breaks iMacros completely, then I'll just downgrade all my Firefox profiles and disable automatic updates. Problem solved.

It's like Wordpress sites where Wordpress and plugins keep updating and breaking shit. Ultimately if you don't know how and don't want to pay someone to keep dealing with it, you just bring everything to a working state with older versions and then disable all future updates and call it a day.
