Unable to get website to recognize iMacros inputting text

by goldcup19 on Sun Jul 16, 2017 12:35 pm

Hello,

I'm having an issue utilizing iMacros to the complete the signup on a website. I can get the macro to enter in the desired username and password into the fields, so that part is fine. But the website doesn't recognize that anything was typed in the text fields because I'm assuming iMacros doesn't simulate the typing of text but rather just paste it in . At the end I have to delete a letter from each box for the field to recognize that something was typed

I'm attaching the code and the csv file called "new.csv". I'm also using iMacros for firefox as well.

Your Thread is nearly perfect with FCI mentioned and complete Script posted, together with a Sample of your '.CSV' DataSource, that's really perfect, Compliments...!
BUT...!, but-but-but...!, your Thread Title is completely "useless", everybody "needs Help" on this Forum, a Thread Title must be DESCRIPTIVE of its (specific) Content for other Users (either willing to help you like me, or searching the Forum with a similar Case/Qt) to know from its Title what the Thread is about without having to read it completely... Yep...! :!:
=> Give a Descriptive Title to your Thread for me to do any "digging" to try to help you...
- (F)CIM = (Full) Config Info Missing: iMacros + Browser + OS with all 3 Versions...
- I usually don't even read the Question if that (required) Info is not mentioned...
- Script & URL usually help a lot for a more "educated" Help...

Sorry about that, I went ahead and made the adjustments which will further help my issue and others members in the future. Thanks for the heads up.

Yep, perfect..., I only "hope" it's not long as the Field is limited and your Title might get truncated a bit in the Replies because of the "Re: " which adds 4 Chars, but OK, never mind... (And yep it does indeed...)
No need as well to quote yourself again, it doesn't make the Thread easier to read... (I do quote systematically because some Users tend to delete their Posts once they've had their Answer or keep editing their Posts/Script as they progress, which then renders such Thread useless or confusing to follow for other Users searching the Forum...)

OK, so you are on v9.0.3 for FF...

Oh yeah...!, I tried to have a look at the Site but they have some ridiculous 600+Kb heavy Image as Background, that's not a good start, ah-ah...!
(I have a very slow Connection..., so I don't even manage to load that Login Page, ah-ah...!)

But hum, from your Pb Description, I would suggest you try the 'EVENT' Mode for the "difficult" Fields, it is a bit slower than the 'TAG' Mode to type Text, but I guess it will probably do the Trick...
What might work as well and would then be quicker, is to keep the 'TAG' Mode to fill in the Content of both Fields and simply add a 'CLICK' in the 'EVENT' Mode on both Fields...
