Thats the iMacros for Firefox plugin. It has a built in macro editor which performs the syntax colorising, without needing any other applications.

To create an xml file, create a new text document, and rename it to match the required file name (e.g. 'New Text Document.txt' to 'userDefineLang.xml')

As for the content of the xml file, you do not want the content of the image at the top. You want the content of the code block at the bottom of master_jaf's first post, put this, into the xml file, in the right location, and notepad++ will syntax colorise your macros.

Which plugin/version are you using that you cannot find the paths bit on?

What editors are supported for iMacros with Firefox in Linux? It would be nice to see support for Vim or gVim and gedit.

How can I change editor for viewing page source from notepad to notepad++ for imacros browser ? Changing paths in options only allows to view my macros in different editor but not the page source.

THNX FOR REPLYING.
ACTUALLY I WANT TO ASK THAT WHY HIGHLIGHTING FEATURE IS NOT WORKING FOR ME. AS YOU CAN SEE IN IMAGE FONT COLOR IS SAME FOR ALL. BUT WHEN I SEE TE FONT COLOR POSTED BY ANY OTHER, THEN FONT COLOR IS DIFFERENT. OPE SO, NOW YOU GET MY PROBLEM AND HELP ME TO SOLVE IT OUT.

I just upgraded to Version 7.

I am not sure if this is a bug, or I need to modify a setting.

My Macros are stored on a network drive "S:\ITS\ISDATA\Web Scraping\iMacros {Macros}"

The Macro I wish to modify is "Bank Detail.iim"

When I select Edit Macro using the NotePad++ Editor, I get the following Error:

Error1.png
Error1.png (6.08 KIB) Viewed 14115 times

Then,
Error2.png
Error2.png (6.84 KIB) Viewed 14115 times

It appears that when iMacros passes the path to NotePad++, there is an issue with spaces in the path.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get around this?

Thank you,

Brian Rees

I'm a little late to the party, but you should submit your syntax highlighting script to the cchris over in the notepad++ dev group so it can be added to their wiki of user defined languages. PM me if you want help.

Hi,

I took the notepad++ syntax file and tried to make it into a TextPad syntax file. I don't know the intricacies of it, I just tried to follow the pattern as laid out in the NP++ file. Maybe some one could improve it. It seems to work a bit. Name it imacros.syn and on my system it goes in C:\Program Files\TextPad 5\Samples, see the help in TP to make a new document class.

Code: Select all

; TextPad syntax file for Imacros, usally imm extension

C=1

[Syntax]
Namespace1 = 6
IgnoreCase = Yes
BracketChars=()
PreprocStart =
OperatorChars=*/+-><{}
SyntaxStart =
SyntaxEnd =
CommentStart =
CommentEnd =
CommentStartAlt =
CommentEndAlt =
SingleComment = '
SingleCommentCol = 1
StringStart = "
StringEnd = "
StringAlt =
StringEsc =

CharEnd =

The built-in editor is great for iim, how can I set to use external editor only for Javascript?
I would like to use Notepad++ for iim and SublimeText for js.
Thanks
