Drop Down Macro Issues

by cxwell3 on Wed Dec 06, 2017 11:25 am

1. What version of iMacros are you using?
VERSION BUILD=844 RECORDER=CR

2. What operating system are you using? (please also specify language)
Windows 7

3. Which browser(s) are you using? (include version numbers)
Version 62.0.3202.94 (Official Build) (64-bit).

4. Do the included demo macros work ok?
Yes

I've been unsuccessful getting a macro to work for drop down menus on this site: https://rem-prod.qintra.com:8443/arsys/ ... ormat=html
The macro will open the drop down but will not select anything. I've looked through other posts for the last hour but can't get it to work. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with TYPE=IMG

Any help you can offer is appreciated

Here's the macro:

TAG POS=18 TYPE=IMG ATTR=SRC:https://rem-prod.qintra.com:8443/arsys/resources/images/mt_sprites.gif
TAG POS=2 TYPE=TD ATTR=TXT:Closed

I can't access your Site/Page to have a look ("Server not found")... :(

"Standard" DDLB's are of 'TYPE=SELECT', your DDLB probably gets constructed and populated from some Background JavaScript on this '.GIF' Image which the 'TAG' Mode often has difficulties to handle correctly.

'.GIF' Images often get dynamically replaced by another '.GIF' on 'MouseOver' and iMacros sometimes gets "tricked" and picks up the "wrong" '.GIF', (you would then need to inspect the Source of the Page to find out the Name of the "related" '.GIF', or you can shorten its Name with Wildcards, but that looks a little bit "dangerous" for this Page as you are already at "POS=18", or you would then need to use Relative Positioning to lower the 'POS=n'), but that doesn't seem to be the case here anyway, or I think the DDLB wouldn't even open...

=> Try using the 'EVENT' Mode for opening the DDLB and making the Selection..., as it usually can handle such "tricky" DDLB's better than the 'TAG' Mode... A mini-'WAIT' Statement between the 2 to allow the DDLB to get populated might help as well...
- (F)CIM = (Full) Config Info Missing: iMacros + Browser + OS with all 3 Versions...
- I usually don't even read the Question if that (required) Info is not mentioned...
- Script & URL usually help a lot for a more "educated" Help...
