Activate imacros tag command when not on loaded webpage?

Is there a way to have a imacros wait for a tag even without a web page loaded? (Like when in chrome when you go to settings, it hasn't got a web-page loaded so it cancels the macro). I am trying to have a macro running with a timer but the timer is on a chrome web-page so I can't leave the macro on...
