SAVEAS doesn't work well for all web pages

Using "SAVEAS TYPE=MHT|CPL|HTM|TXT" with a webpage that is not completely valid doesn't work (using the imacros browser). Take this webpage source : <table id="xxxxx" class="yyy" border="0"><tr><td>hello</td></tr></table> There is no DOCTYPE, no head or body parts. But this is a page I sometimes get...

Re: Using the LAST extracted value in a macro

Thanks for the reply Hannes! I understand you promote the use of a script when some features are not available inside the macro itself (and I do use scripts). But as a developer, trying to use iMacros heavily , I'm telling you what I think could be improved. The problem with always relying on a scri...

Re: Using the LAST extracted value in a macro

{{!LAST_EXTRACT}} would be a good idea though... More suggestions for a future version: - more (unlimited?) custom variables settable inside the macro itself, not just VAR1, VAR2, VAR3 - simple "if" inside the macro itself (I know you can do this in a script): if {{!LAST_EXTRACT}} != "#EANF#" ' do a...

Re: Using the LAST extracted value in a macro

I think I found the answer:

- backup the current {{!EXTRACT}} to var1
- set {{!EXTRACT}} to null
- extract the value I need and set it to var2
- set {{!EXTRACT}} to null
- add var1 to {!EXTRACT}}
- add var2 to {!EXTRACT}}

Using the LAST extracted value in a macro

I see someone posted a similar question back in 2006, so I guess there is a solution now, but I don't find it! I want to use the last extracted value in my macro, but {{!EXTRACT}} contains all the extracted value! Is there a way to do something like: TAG POS=1 TYPE=BODY ATTR=TXT:*hello* EXTRACT=TXT ...

Re: Extracting only the searched text

Hannes, iOpus wrote:
maybe for a future version: to be able to return a custom value instead of the extracted text.
The upcoming v7 indeed will support returning substrings of the matching TAG's content. So maybe you want to subscribe to the announcement forum.
Thanks!

Re: Extracting only the searched text

Two workarounds: 1) Use a script, access the extraction via iimGetLastExtract() and use the scripting language's means to identify the string you are looking for 2) Use a script and if your TAG (with TXT:*Hello<SP>world*) returns #EANF#, you know that it wasn't found. Thanks for the reply. This is ...

Extracting only the searched text

Let's say I don't know where the text I'm searching for will be located exactly, I don't know what will be the surrounding HTML tags, is it possible to extract only the searched text? Ex: TAG POS=1 TYPE=* ATTR=TXT:*hello<SP>world* EXTRACT=TXT When I use the above code the extract contains a lot of t...

Re: selection of a drop down option, fill/replace/replace

I'll look into this!

May I suggest that, even without scripting, a way to prevent iMacros from modifying the selectedIndex of a select input when the text to find is not found, would be a really good idea!

Thanks for the help.

selection of a drop down option, fill/replace/replace

I try to select the select option that is the closest possible to the text I target. But I don't always know what the available options will be. Let's say the text I target is "home insurance" in a "category" drop down input. It's possible that the closest option on a particular site will be "insura...

Re: regular expression to select an input field?

I found that: http://forum.imacros.net/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=2514 : you can use "*" and "ERRORIGNORE" with multiple choices..

Regular expressions would be really appreciated though!

Thanks!

regular expression to select an input field?

I'm new to iMacros and find it really well done! I have a basic question though: Is it possible to use a regular expression to select an input field? Let's say I use a TAG command, can I use a regex after the ATTR part? I'd like iMacros to be able to fill any fields containing "email", for example. ...
