Re: How to automate Firefox with iimInit ("-fx")

Another issue that I found out with the Firefox Javascript interface. While I find this interface to be very solid and without any problem so far, a long-running javascript that performs many extractions from many different pages will eventually cause Firefox to crash. The reason seems to be "out o...

Re: How to automate Firefox with iimInit ("-fx")

Thanks you for the system details. They look all ok to me. 1. iimInit("-fx",False) does not work, always starts a new Firefox session. Yes, FALSE is not supported for Firefox. This parameter usually is not required for unattended automation. If you have a special use case that would require please l...

Re: Problem with my script halting randomly

, do I need the scripting version of iMacros to use a similar script? No, Tom did this with the Javascript scripting feature that is part of iMacros for Firefox. However, it would be even easier with the regular iMacros Scripting Edition as you can use any other programming language as well (C#, Pe...

iMacros Scripting Edition V7.22 released

This is a recommended maintenance release. In addition to many smaller improvements it includes an update to the iMacros Run As agent to add Firefox 4 support. Use the Run As agent to run 1000s of browser instances unattended, e. g. controlled by a Windows service. Such a setup is ideal for automate...

Re: Firefox 4b7 "can't instantiate JS Player"

ed2010, thank you for confirming this! Only one tiny issue remains: The first time you run a JS script after a Firefox browser start you might get an error. If so, restarting the JS script will solve the issue. The reason for this behavior is of the new asynchronous loading in Firefox 4. By the time...

To summarize: Workaround for -991 error ""can't instantiate JS Player":

- Install Firefox V4b11 and

- Install the latest Firebug V1.7a11 Alpha release

This solves the issue on Windows 7. It does not work on Windows XP.

Re: Firefox 4b7 "can't instantiate JS Player"

Wow, just as you said, after installing Firefox V4b11 and the latest Firebug V1.7a11 Alpha release it works - and very fast as well :D

This should give us some clues for debugging this further. And it is a very good workaround until we have a fix.

Re: How to automate Firefox with iimInit ("-fx")

Strange, it works for us. Can you try with this script: Option Explicit Dim iim1, iret Dim rn, i, keyword Dim code code = "CODE:URL GOTO=google.com" + vbNewLine+ "TAG POS=1 TYPE=INPUT:TEXT FORM=NAME:f ATTR=NAME:q1 CONTENT=x" set iim1= CreateObject ("imacros") iret = iim1.iimInit("-fx",true) MsgBox "...
