mp3 scrape

Post by beartron » Wed Feb 13, 2008 7:26 pm

I am trying to build a macro that will scrape a series of web pages (music blogs such as http://www.fluxblog.org or http://gorillavsbear.blogspot.com/) of their mp3s and save them all to a folder on my hard drive.

I tried looking through some of the tutorials and how-to videos, but i haven't found one that is a generalized file type search.

I've also had a problem just being able to save my trial macros, has any one else had this problem?

Any help you can give me would be much appreciated!

Downloading all files with a certain extension is easy. This example macro downloads all files with a "mp3" extension.

URL GOTO=http://fluxblog.org/
ONDOWNLOAD FOLDER=* FILE=+_{{!NOW:yyyymmdd_hhnnss}}
TAG POS={{!LOOP}} TYPE=A ATTR=HREF:*.mp3

Please not that you need to start the macro with the loop button.

When I run this macro it opens each of the files in a new tab, maybe it's because i am running firefox on a mac, is there a way for me to actually save the files like you have shown? how do i specify where i want the files downloaded?

thanks!

As a test, does the demo-download macro work for you?
