Extract URL from Excel sheet to Macros

Post by illianafrazer » Sun Jan 03, 2010 4:03 pm

I have the following scenario

1.Enter the URL
2.select a tab
3.HERE I WILL HAVE A SET OF LINKS . EVERY LINK IS TO BE CLICKED ONCE Only
4.Perform some form filling works
5.Log out

I have created the Macro but i do not know how to instruct the macro not to click on an already clicked URL or the Link .Let me tell about the nature of the Links present there. they will be like

xyz.com/jobsheet11
xyz.com/jobsheet12
xyz.com/jobsheet13

This list will be updated Daily ie next day it will have the previous set of URLS as well as

xyz.com/jobsheet14
xyz.com/jobsheet15
xyz.com/jobsheet16

So iam not able to give a particular Url or click by means of positioning as they are spread throughout the page. BUT one thing can be done. Iam provided with all the URL's in an excel sheet like the following manner (very first Row)

Colum1 Colum2 Colum3
xyz.com/jobsheet14 xyz.com/jobsheet15 xyz.com/jobsheet16

So what i need now ?

1.Enter the URL
2.select a tab
3.Fetch the URL from the excel sheet from ROW1 colum1and then open it then go to next step
4.Perform some form filling works
5.Repeat till all URLS are finished
6.Log out

or is there a simple way to instruct the macro not to click on a already clicked url and to look for one another?

Please help me with codes as iam a very entry level user

Regards,
Illiana

I have seenthe code previously and here is what i tried using it

Code: Select all

VERSION BUILD=6251204 RECORDER=FX
TAB T=1
URL GOTO=http://www.xyz.com
TAG POS=1 TYPE=A ATTR=TXT:Employee<SP>Login
TAG POS=1 TYPE=INPUT:TEXT FORM=NAME:frmlogin ATTR=NAME:txtemail CONTENT=myname@xyz.com
SET !ENCRYPTION NO
SET !ERRORIGNORE YES
TAG POS=1 TYPE=INPUT:PASSWORD FORM=NAME:frmlogin ATTR=NAME:txtpassword CONTENT=xxxxxxx
TAG POS=1 TYPE=INPUT:SUBMIT FORM=NAME:frmlogin ATTR=VALUE:Login
TAG POS=1 TYPE=A ATTR=TXT:Find<SP>Job<SP>Sheet
CMDLINE !DATASOURCE address.csv
SET !DATASOURCE_COLUMNS 8
SET !LOOP 2
SET !DATASOURCE_LINE {{!LOOP}}
TAG POS=1 TYPE=A ATTR=HREF:{{!COL1}}
TAG POS=1 TYPE=IMG ATTR=SRC:xyz.com/bing/jpeg
TAB T=2
TAG POS=1 TYPE=INPUT:SUBMIT FORM=NAME:myform ATTR=VALUE:Submit<SP>Job<SP>ID
TAG POS=1 TYPE=INPUT:BUTTON ATTR=VALUE:<SP>Close<SP>
TAB T=2
TAB CLOSE
TAB T=1
TAG POS=1 TYPE=FONT ATTR=TXT:Log<SP>out
I saved a CSV file named as DATASOURCE address and in the second row (as the starting line is skipped) i stored the URL, but it didnt pick it up.

more over i can see in the example that in a single web page the excel is used multiple times but in my case

1.Enter the URL
2.select a tab
3.HERE I WILL HAVE A SET OF LINKS . EVERY LINK IS TO BE CLICKED/entered ONCE Only
4.Perform some works (similar irrespective of above selected links)
5.Log out

only the 3rd step(of going to a URL) is different and rest all steps are same. In the CSV i can have the URL list either in column1 or in the row1

Hello, we are very sorry for coming back to you so late :( This post sliped through our fingers, because it went off the unanswered topics list before we saw it.

Is this issue still relevant?
