Performance - XP versus Windows Server and logon types

Post by mjayson » Sat Sep 04, 2010 7:05 am

Hi guys,

Got a quick question about performance - we develop our macros on regular windows xp desktops connected with a normal 4mbit dsl.
When we put our macros into production - on our windows servers 2003 and 2008 rc2 they run around 2-3 times slower and those servers are
on 100+mbit internet connections and with better hardware specs.

We run most macros with firefox and iimRunner (through php) - however on our development computers the iimRunner is in Interactive mode
where on the server it's RemoteInteractive.

Would you recommend switching our servers to windows xp - or is the issue with the RemoteInteractive mode?.

Thanks for a great product.

We run many macros ourselves on Win 2003 / 2008 servers and do not notice a slow-down.

If you log into your servers via Remote Desktop and start the macros manually, do they run faster (i. e. with the expected speed)?

We don't have physical access to the servers - so remote desktop is the only option. The immrunner is started via remote desktop.

My guess is the local Interactive mode versus the RemoteInteractive on the servers, any logic in that?
