Downloaded csv file not found

Post by MikeShand » Wed Apr 24, 2019 9:54 am

Using the IE imacros (VERSION BUILD=12.5.503.8802) on win10, when I initiate a download of a csv file the ONDOWNLOAD reports an error that it cannot find the file.
The reason is that I have changed my download directory using the usual win 10 method (via the location tab) to be D:downloads (to avoid clogging up my SSD C: drive) and that is where the file is downloaded to by IE, but iMacros is still looking in the default downloads location C:\Users\Username\Downloads.

Changing the Win10 downloads location back to the default allows it to work perfectly.

Is there a way to configure iMacros to look in the "correct" download location?

Hi Mike,

The way downloads are currently handled with iMacros for IE, iMacros will always look for the downloaded file in %USERPROFILE%\Downloads and then attempt to move/rename the file according to the values specified by the ONDOWNLOAD command. Unfortunately, there is no way to tell iMacros to look in a different location for the downloaded file. I discussed this with a developer this morning, and they have opened a new request to address this in a future release, so that iMacros for IE will be able to determine the default download location as set by IE.

In the meantime, depending on the iMacros license you have, you can try using iMacros for Chrome or Firefox, or the iMacros browser, which should not have this limitation.
