Saving favorites to imacros browser

Post by paydog23 » Thu Jul 15, 2021 4:25 pm

How do you save favorite URLs to the imacros browser? I found nothing in the forum or the resources about this. It's not a big deal, just a nuisance, having to copy and paste the URLs into the address bar every time.

Hi paydog23,

The iMacros browser has never implemented inherent bookmarks because the main purpose of the browser is for running macros (not as a daily driver for browsing the web) and well, most macros include a URL GOTO line to specify the website to navigate to automatically.

You can use this same concept to mimic bookmarks in the iMacros browser by creating a Favorites subfolder under your Macros folder, then whenever you want to "save a bookmark" to the page you are currently viewing, you just hit the Record button immediately followed by Stop. This records a short macro where the only relevant command is the URL GOTO for the page you are on. You can then rename the macro file to give it a more meaningful name and move it into your Favorites folder.
