Java V6 Update 11 and newer: DirectScreen issue

Post by Tech Support » Mon Feb 09, 2009 11:22 am

DirectScreen supports Java 6 Update 11 and newer, but you need to disable the "next-generation" Java Plugin option, To do this, open the Control Panel, Sun Java Panel, Advanced Options and uncheck the "next-generation" Plugin option:

If you do not see this option, please make sure you are using the Java control panel for V6.11 or newer.
If you do not see the "Java Plugin" menu entry in the Advanced Options, you have an older version of the Java Control Panel.

You can also simply click the Java tray icon.
Remove older Java version so you get the latest Java Control Panel version.

How to test if your setting is correct:
Our Java calculator applet on http://www.iopus.com/imacros/demo/v6/java/calc/ appears only if the "next-generation" Java Plugin option is disabled!

 Native Java 6.11 DirectScreen support will be available with one of the next updates.

Note: This issue has been fixed in V6.60. Manually changing the "Next generation" setting is no longer required.

The issue might be back with the latest Java update V6 Update 18. We are testing this. In any case, disabling the "next-generation" Java Plugin option solves it.
