Dat Extraction, please select an element first

Post by mickcam » Thu Aug 28, 2008 4:50 pm

I want to extract data from an online address database, I go to a persons name in a list, click on it and his address is there, thats what I want to extract.

So I ran the extraction wizard then click into the persons first name field, but I get a pop up error saying "Please select an element first"

Can someone tell me how to do this or point me to a tutorial, I just want to extract certain address fields from the address database, save them so a word document then surf to the next customer address and run the macro again. At the moment I'm just copying and pasting.

That happened once to me. If I remember, click on some text on the webpage first, then start the extraction Wizard.

Good Luck,
