Yes

If you think you found a problem: Can you please post the URL of the web page and/or the macro that creates the problem? This would allow us to quickly re-create the issue on our test systems.

(Note: My experiments were all with google re-captcha, but procedure should work with any image whos correct path is hidden)

For a image with no file extension that denotes an image (.bmp,.gif,.png,.gif,...) you have to use SAVEPICTUREAS
Here is the protocol:

FILEDELETE NAME=[PATH AND NAME OF YOUR FILE]
URL GOTO=[PAGE WITH CAPTCHA]
ONDOWNLOAD FOLDER=[FOLDER PATH]FILE=[WHAT YOU WANT THE FILE TO BE NAMED] WAIT=YES
CLICK X=[x position of somewhere in the image] Y=[x position of somewhere in the image] CONTENT=EVENT:SAVEPICTUREAS

This is supposed to create a file in your specified directory with the specified name.
The coordinants can be easily found by left clicking in the captcha box during recording, this is the ONLY way i have been able to grab an image from googles re-captcha....

Heres a bit of my actual script:

(already on correct page)
FILEDELETE NAME=c:\captcha.jpg
ONDOWNLOAD FOLDER=c:\ FILE=captcha.jpg WAIT=YES
CLICK X=255 Y=150 CONTENT=EVENT:SAVEPICTUREAS

HOWEVER!!!!

The image it saves, although a captcha image, IS NOT the correct captcha image, although if I manually right click and save the image (which this script mimics) I get the correct one. AND it completely ignores the ONDOWNLOAD instructions. (i.e it saves in the default firefox download directory with the default name - image.jpg)
I am using Firefox 2 (personal preference) final scripts will likely be written for Internet Explorer 8.

Any suggestions?

Note: I do not write scripts to spam, scam or otherwise annoy anyone. This script is no exception, i work with the elderly in assisted living and my project is designed to facilitate their use of internet features that employ recaptcha as an anti-spam measure. Any help will be appreciated by many.

I'm having the same problem as the people above.

In this site, http://www.vizem.net/submit.php when i save the captcha manually, its good and i can open it. but using imacros for firefox, when i save it,(image.png) its acutally not opening, it says image couldnt not be found(or)opened.

The code which i used was - TAG POS=1 TYPE=INPUT:CHECKBOX FORM=NAME:submitForm ATTR=NAME:OWNER_NEWSLETTER_ALLOW CONTENT=NO
FILEDELETE NAME=/home/user/Desktop/image.png
ONDOWNLOAD FOLDER=/home/user/Desktop/ FILE=+_{{!NOW:yyyymmdd_hhnnss}} WAIT=YES
TAG POS=1 TYPE=IMG ATTR=SRC:http://www.vizem.net/captcha.php?imagehash* CONTENT=EVENT:SAVEPICTUREAS
TAB OPEN
TAB T=2
URL GOTO=http://www.somecaptchadecodingsite.com
