VC++ example from iMacros v12 distr / Visual Studio 2017

by tomotello on Fri Sep 15, 2017 9:08 am

Just sorted out to compile the VC++ examples from the iMacros v12 distribution in Visual Studio 2017 C++ on Windows10 v1703.
Might be others can benefit from the findings. There are two things to consider:

1) The Macro codes doesn't work anymore with the actual iMacros Test site
2) Visual Studio 2010 Platform Tool set has to be installed.

To make it easier, I've attached a fixed version of the iMacrosCppDemo example.

Here the steps:

1) Windows 10: Ensure to have enabled Developer mode (Settings->For developers->Developer mode)
2) Get Vsiualstudio 2010 Express and SP1 (if not yet installed) from
3) Get Visual Studio 2017 Community Edition from and install at least the C++ DevKit
4) Extract the fixed iMacrosCppDemo example attached below
5) Double click on iMacrosCppDemo.sln to load it directly into Visual Studio 2017
->Important: Do not upgrade to Platform Toolset 2017 v141 when you are asked while loading the example the first time
Just select 'No Upgrade'.
You should now be able to build the example without errors.
