i found my own answer (yet again). Could you guys please add some better documentation around using iimrunner. I should not have to search user forums for basic set up. Also, an example like so...

s = m.iimInit("-runner -silent", true, "", "", "", mTimeout);

which demonstrated how you could use more than one switch at a time would have been most helpful.

As for iimrunner - the forum post that advised you to run the imacros browswer at least one time through and correct any prompts should be included in your documentation - this would have saved me countless hours of head banging.

Thanks for the information. Actually, we did not anticipate a need for this, as iimRunner is typically used for running iMacros on a web server. And on a web server, there is no need to run iMacros silent.

Can I ask how and for what you are using iMacros?

iimrunner silent

I am using on a web server, but it seems that even on a web server silent would be preferred as...
1. it would not interrupt the logged in user that iimrunner is running as should they be working on the server
2. it would save using processing power required to physically open a browser instance and render etc.
