Error -347 URL wrong syntax

Post by danhinz » Thu Mar 18, 2010 3:12 pm

I get the following error -347 URL wrong syntax...

BAckground:
Windows XP SP3
Excel 2007 VBA
iMacros v6.90 build 141

Everything macro, excel, etc was working properly then for no apparent reason kaput. This macro was written originally in 6.3. It's based on your macro demo that gets exchange rates. I started getting ActiveX 429 error. Reloaded iM (no Joy) repaired excel from orginal discs (no Joy) determined the reference objects in VBA were unchecked. rechecked and they would stay checked until I ran the macro they would get to the iim1 = CreateObject("internetMacros.iim") line and error 429. changed line to "iMacros.iim" and again, error 429. Changed the line to "imacros" (no .iim) and the macro works.

Now I'm getting the following errors:

1. URL wrong syntax. Did not recognize: http:// missing
(Error code: -347)
Again, this macro ran all last fall at least 2x per week with no issues. I was adjusting it for the new soccer season so was updating the web addresses etc. and had it working. It would go to the schedule page and begin extracting. In the debugger I can see the string I'm sending and there is "http://" at the beginning of the line.

2. to display errors, the macro has a line that said if iplay<0 then msgbox iim.iimGetLastMessage()
i get:
VBA error Run time error '438'
Object doesn't support this property or method

by substituting the line msgbox iplay I get a message with just "-347" showing

Suggestions?

Hello,

Yes it should be

Code: Select all

Set iim1 = CreateObject("imacros")
And you can't use iim.iimGetLastMessage(), because the variable is called iim1. So it should be iim1.iimGetLastMessage().

Could you please retry with these values and we'll see where we get from there?

error was that when I assigned the url to be called
I used :

iret=iim1.iimset("-url', url)
and it should have been without the "-"
iret=iim1.iimset("url', url)

Still getting the MsgBox error and the code does refer to the proper variable "iim1.iimGetLastMessage()"

Hello,

Could you please try iimGetLastError() and use {{url}} in URL GOTO?

Could you please try iimGetLastError()
That's it! Message displays properly. :D

Not sure what you want me to try on the {{url}} part, it was a mistake on my part
the macro that goes to the web page is only:

Code: Select all

VERSION BUILD=6300218
TAB T=1
TAB CLOSEALLOTHERS
URL GOTO={{url}}
The error was in my VBA code, there was a "-" in front of one of the terms that should not have been there. If you want me to try something else, I'll be glad to.
Thanks for the help.
