How To Setup iMacros To Edit The Website URL?

Post by newmacro » Fri Sep 03, 2010 12:00 pm

I have a list of urls that I need to visit, but they are all incorrect. I would need to an iMacros to edit the url in this way:

http://mydomain.com/1223 -> http://mydomain.com/aaaa

I would do this in a text editor and mass edit all of them, but I need to visit the first url to see if it is incorrect. The final part would always be the same (aaaa), but the first part would change (1223 could be 2331 or something else)

How to do this?

iMacros alone cannot do this, you would need to code this logic into a script (like you can with iMacros for Firefox using Javascript). Unfortunately this type of integrated scripting is not available with iMacros for Chrome due to restrictions in the Chrome API. However, the ability to control Chrome with the iMacros Scripting Edition will be available as a beta release within a few weeks.

FYI - I provided a similar solution to modifying a URL using vbscript in the following post:
