Beginners Question - Focus during iMacro Play

Post by Zoomclub » Sun Mar 09, 2008 1:14 pm

Hi - Completely new to iMacros - using iMacros for Firefox V6 - freeware.

Just started using some basic iMacros & am experimenting using them to complete forms on webpages etc.Have found some info' using the Wiki site & by searching these forums (Problem is, alot of it is over my head at the moment!)

Wondering if there's a way of switching the focus back to the web page during p/b of a macro? - for example when using PAUSE to allow me time to complete a text box - txt box is highlighted in blue, but have to click in it to actually be able to input text.

Have read about using WINCLICK to do this, but this doesn't seem to be available in the freeware version.

2nd thing I've been trying to figure is how to "wildcard" a http address - eg on a site which requires you to click on a banner ad to verify a lottery entry - when the ad's and the http address change frequently.

Not sure if it's possible to use the * to do this - Where would the * need to be to make this work regardless of actual address -
TAG POS=1 TYPE=IMG ATTR=HREF: ... 1828770297?

Also, if there are keyboard shortcuts/commands which can be used to control the playback instead of clicking on the "Play", "Continue" etc buttons?

Ok, apologies for any incorrect (or laughable!) terminology or obvious mistakes - Any help appreciated

well you probly want to check out the form filling part of the wiki here:

For the wild card thing what matters is that the stuff you replace with the stars will still allow it to be uniquely identified.
so if there were no other '' then you would do

Instead of using the websites interface, you can instead just do something like this:

Code: Select all

PROMPT Please enter required info: {{!VAR1}}
What page do you need to automate anyways?
