iMacros freezes after file download

Post by mlincoln » Sat Jan 12, 2013 5:37 am

Hello,
I am attempting to download citations from web of science, but they only let you do 500 at a time, and I need 240,000, hence iMacros seems to be my answer. However, I tried the firefox version for a while, and my macro would only loop through, at most, about ten times, before the macro freezes on the file download dialog. (I followed the instructions to ensure that .txt files were set to "Always Ask"...)

So I decided to try the Chrome version:
My macro is as follows:

VERSION BUILD=6011206 RECORDER=CR
URL GOTO=http://apps.webofknowledge.com/summary. ... eralSearch
TAG POS=1 TYPE=INPUT:TEXT FORM=ID:output_form ATTR=ID:markFrom CONTENT=1
TAG POS=1 TYPE=INPUT:TEXT FORM=ID:output_form ATTR=ID:markTo CONTENT=500
TAG POS=1 TYPE=INPUT:IMAGE FORM=ID:output_form ATTR=NAME:saveToFile&&SRC:http://images.webofknowledge.com/WOKRS5 ... ave_sm.gif
URL GOTO=http://apps.webofknowledge.com/summary. ... eralSearch
TAG POS=1 TYPE=INPUT:TEXT FORM=ID:output_form ATTR=ID:markFrom CONTENT=501
TAG POS=1 TYPE=INPUT:TEXT FORM=ID:output_form ATTR=ID:markTo CONTENT=1000
TAG POS=1 TYPE=INPUT:IMAGE FORM=ID:output_form ATTR=NAME:saveToFile&&SRC:http://images.webofknowledge.com/WOKRS5 ... ave_sm.gif

This code takes the browser to the start page, enters the beginning and end range of citations I want to download, then clicks the download button, where the browser is taken to a new page and the file downloads. This gets me to line 5 of the macro. From there, the macro freezes and does not go onto the sixth line returning the browser to the start page and beginning the loop again.
Since web of science requires a login, this will be difficult for anyone else to replicate/troubleshoot, but if anyone has any suggestions to get me up and running with iMacros for Chrome, I would greatly appreciate them.

Thank you!
